About the Quartet

Overdrive takes music seriously, but they have so much fun on stage, you'll want to run up and join them (but please don't). Their performances include a variety of musical styles with an emphasis on up-tempo barbershop songs plus a fair amount of goofiness to make things fun.

The quartet is based in southern New Hampshire and has been together since March of 1999. They quickly made their mark in competition, taking third place in their first district contest in the fall of 1999, and then winning the district championship a year later. Their newest member, lead singer AL St. Louis, joined the group in the summer of 2002.

One of their main goals is to expose young people to the barbershop style. The quartet has been to schools in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York and even Illinois to perform, coach vocal groups and present workshops on singing techniques and elements of the barbershop style. They hope that with their musical backgrounds, good singing, youthful energy and matching polo shirts, they can continue to develop the next generation of barbershoppers for many years to come.
